How we Met

We met August 20, 2022, at my brother's house. Really funny I was standing in the doorway when Ramont was walking up to the door, we exchanged words and according to Ramont I said, "Let me give you a Hug." As Ramont came into the house my brother officially introduced us. As the night went on me and my sister Trina were getting ready to leave and Ramont was trying to be slick by sliding me his phone asking me to give him my number. Well, I entered my number into his phone and the next day as I was headed back to Grand Rapids my phone rang. It was Ramont and we talked for 2 hours until I got home. That Monday I got a call from Ramont asking if he could take me out to dinner. I said to myself dude you are not driving 2 hours away to take me to dinner. I said sure, Ramont said OK I will let you know once I am just about done working, where can we meet? I said Woodland Mall. I was at my friend’s house as we were sitting, talking and laughing, saying he was not coming 2 hours away for dinner. Well, he fooled us he called and said he was at the mall. Get to the mall and we talked and decided to go to Catina's for dinner. At the dinner it felt like we have known each other for a long time. The conversation was good, so good we closed Catina's down and continued the conversation in the parking lot and talked until 2am. Ramont had to drive 2 hours home and get up for work and I had to be up for work. From that day we have been dating ever sense. So, if you hear us say "The Hug" it is where it all began and led us to this next level in our relationship. Because as we continued to get know each other and fall in love day by day and that continues every day.

The proposal process began in September 2023. It was well planned and coordinated. I started the process by picking out a ring, called the Managers which are Denise 3 daughters and my children told them my proposal plan. After getting the blessings from Denise Mom and Pops the planning for the date, time and place was set. On December 31, 2023, I asked Denise to leave Church service early as my plan was unfolding. Once we arrived Denise still had no idea of what was going on as our family waited for us to enter the house. As we walked through the door, she was surprised to see everybody greet her with a rose as she became emotional as always. While I became more and more nervous, I knew this would be one of the most important decisions in my life and I was prepared to make it happen. Without thinking twice as we both stood there emotional looking in each other’s eyes. I expressed from the bottom of my heart and soul how blessed I am to have Denise in my life all while asking her will she marry me. Her response ABOUSTELY WILL.
